Sunday Children's Ministries

Sunday School

Our Sunday School meets at 9:30am on Sunday mornings. We have children's classes for all ages:

Each class involves age-appropriate fun, warm fellowship, and life-related Bible lessons. We use Regular Baptist Press materials in all of our classes.

Nursery

Children are important to us at First Baptist Church. We provide a nursery for all regularly-scheduled services. All nursery and preschool staff are members of our church who have gone through a screening process that has been approved by our insurance company. Their love for children is clearly demonstrated in the care that the children receive.

Preschool Ministries

We have two classes for preschool children during the Sunday School hour - one for children ages 2 and 3, and another for children age 4 through Kindergarten.

These two groups are combined into one group for the worship service. They are also combined for our Sunday evening service. The ministry during these services involves much more than play. Bible stories, singing, and handcrafts are combined with play to make these ministries both fun and educational.

On Wednesdays the preschool division of IGNITE! is called "Little Flames." The Little Flames Club is for children ages 4 years old through Kindergarten.

Children's Church

Our Children's Church program meets during the Sunday Morning Worship Service (10:45am - 12:00 noon) weekly. We offer a nursery for the babies, Beginner's Church for preschool children, and Children's Church for those in the elementary grades.

Beginner's Church is under the direction of Dave and Susan Dooley. Guided play, singing, and Bible stories are included in each week's program. The children meet in a room furnished with everything children that age might need, including its own rest room.

Children's Church is for elementary-aged children. Teachers and helpers are church members who rotate on a quarterly basis. We are currently using Regular Baptist Press's "It's Grow Time!" Junior Church curriculum. These students sit with their parents in the auditorium during the song service and are dismissed to Children's Church during the final song.
