The Righteous and the Wicked
We believe
a. That there is a radical and essential difference between the righteous and the wicked, (Mal 3:18; Rom 6:23)
b. That only those who are justified by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and sanctified by the Spirit of our God are truly righteous in His esteem, (Rom 6:17-18; 7:6)
c. That all who continue in impenitence and unbelief are in His sight wicked and under the curse, (I Jn 5:19; Jn 8:21)
d. That this distinction holds among men both in and after death, in the everlasting felicity of the saved in heaven and the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost in the lake of fire. (Gen 18:23; Prov 14:32; Mt 25:34-46; Lk 16:25; Rev 20:14, 15)
